Growing Bromeliads - large attractive foliage plant, broad leaves up to a meter long form a dense compact rosette, the foiage
being med. Green with uneven bands of red-brown to maroon on both sides. The flower spike is prominent with two opposed

1998 summary - kept this indoors first winter, bloomed briefly, moved outside for the summer, then in greenhouse. Stayed
healthy most of the year.
3/20/99 - moved back outside today and repotted.
5/21/00 - moved to new Bromeliad area above pond
2000 summary - a great bromeliad, moved indoors for the winter and started blooming in December, very long lasting
inflorescence with bright colors.

Bloom Lasts: 10-14 weeks Light: low. The Vriesia will benefit from the filtered shade you have available; the
leaves are sensitive and this one has a few marks from where the new angle of the sun changed it's light. However it's a
healty plant and you can trim those off when it gets there if you wish or when it has thrown some new leaves.
