SCHENK: Lists regions as south, central and tropical. These are epiphytic bormeliads, among the easiest to grow of the huge
bromeliad group. Can be hung from tree limbs or planted under trees. B. nutans is hardiest (to 10 degrees) and B. zebrina
has deep green leaves, greenish flowers and apricot bracts.
GROWING BROMELIADS - very small, 20 cm, tight tube of 2 to 3 leaves, infl. Is nodding with bright pink bracts. Flowers
have pink sepals and the petals are green with blue tips and edges.
